Teaching our learners how to think rather than what to think.

Our Junior (Grade 1-3) Bridging Centre aims to remediate problem areas in Literacy and Numeracy. As each child is an individual with specific learning needs, the bridging teacher employs a holistic developmental approach to build each child’s abilities and potential. Each child is assessed to establish where remediation is needed. These specific areas are then remediated to bridge the gaps. An integrated approach is used to accommodate visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners. Learning takes place in a personal, flexible and encouraging environment. A positive child learns more, lives more, and loves more!

Our Senior (Grade 4-7) Bridging Classes seek to ensure that learners who are experiencing difficulties, or who may have gaps in their English and Mathematics foundations, improve their skills and begin to achieve at an appropriate level for their grade. Children who are in Bridging are fully part of their register class; they merely have a different teacher for English and Mathematics. The goal is to help children succeed and work on basic skills, while still covering the curriculum of the particular grade. Individualised Learning Programmes (ILP) can also be developed and implemented as and when required.
If and when learners have reached the necessary grade level, they will have the option to leave the Bridging Class. This is a smooth transition as they are used to being part of a mainstream environment and have covered all the content and skills necessary to adjust effortlessly.

Our dedicated support team also consists of a Speech Therapist, an Occupational Therapist and two counsellors.
